Spherical harmonic representation of a wave produced by a source on the spherical wavefront

Abstract

Representations of a wavefunction were determined in terms of spherical harmonics. The source is considered as a spherical surface expanding with the velocity of light. The expressions determined are correct near the wavefront. The description of the electromagnetic field using the obtained solution is discussed.
