Abstract
Amorphous Co80-xHoxB20 alloys were prepared by melt spinning technique and their magnetic properties have been studied. The magnetic compensation occurs at about x=8. Antiferromagnetic coupling between Co and Ho prevails and breaks at relatively high-fields. The mean field theory has been used to explain the temperature dependence of the magnetization. The exchange interactions between Co-Co and Co-Ho atom pairs have been evaluated.
