We study the influence of electron doping in
Ba1+xSr1-3xLa2xFeMoO6 () double perovskites,
where the designed combination for the cationic site minimizes the influence
of steric effects. We find an increase of the Curie temperature (TC),
which supports the claim of the important role played by the band filling in
the value of TC. Other effects like changes in the bare electronic
bandwidth (determined by structural parameters) and Fe/Mo antisite defects
seem to play a less relevant role in the increase of TC in this series.
Changes in structural parameters, magnetization and magnetotransport
properties as a function of Ba/La doping are correlated with an increase of
the density of states at the Fermi level and a moderate rise of antisites.
