Enhanced NMR of $^{51} V$ $^{51}\hbox {V}$

Abstract

The enhanced $^{51} V$ $^{51}\hbox {V}$ NMR in ${Al}_{2} O_{3}$ $\hbox {Al}_{2} \hbox {O}_{{3}}$ and [C( ${NH}_{2})_{3}$ $\hbox {NH}_{2})_{3}$ ]Al( ${SO}_{4})_{2} \cdot 6 H_{2}$ $\hbox {SO}_{4})_{2} {\cdot }6\hbox {H}_{2}$ O have been studied. Both systems are Van Vleck paramagnets. Analysis of enhanced $^{51} V$ $^{51}\hbox {V}$ NMR and $V^{3 +}$ $\hbox {V}^{{3+}}$ ESR data allowed us to estimate vanadium nuclear quadrupole frequencies and hyperfine interaction constant B for $^{51} V^{3 +}$ $^{51} \hbox {V}^{{3+}}$ ions in corundum for the first time.
